The emerald weighs approximately 9.00-9.50 carats and presents a richly saturated medium very slightly bluish green color, eye-clean with light abrasions, a small nick to the girdle and a small feather under a bezel facet. This exceptional Tiffany & Co ring belonged to Mary Lily Kenan, who in 1901 married Henry Flagler, a founder of Standard Oil Company. The home and life they created together was an American Beaux-Art dream, complete with an impressive home in Palm Beach named Whitehall, which is now known as the Flagler Museum. Mary Lily amassed an extraordinary collection of jewels during her marriage to Mr. Flagler until his sudden death in 1913, which left her the wealthiest widow in America at the time.
